As the team prepares for the meet, Michael Poole who will be taking place in the 60 meters, went in depth on how he is trying to get himself and his team prepared for the event.

“Do the right routines in the weight room not too much to strain my body but enough to keep me strong enough to hold off i'm only doing sprints 60 meter dashes,” said Poole. “You got to definitely be focused. I do a lot of technical work at practice but not work that’s going to kill me because if we kill ourselves before and we’re not fresh there’s going to be hell to pay. Stay focused, stay determined, and weight room minimized and eating right.”

Catherine Bryant who partakes in the pantheon event, talked about how the coaches are getting the team prepared for the event.

“Our coaches have done a really great job of focusing on our weaknesses this season and really getting us where we need to be to perform our best at MEAC and get the dub (win),” said Bryant.

Head track coach Dean Moore also talked about how confident her team is heading into the meet.

“On the women side, we’re seeking a Triple Crown which is to win all three championships, cross country, indoor and outdoor track,” said Moore. “We have won cross country, and we are looking to break the cycle of coming in second at the MEAC Indoor Championship. We did some great recruiting last year, so we are expecting a very exciting and competitive meet,” Moore continued.

“On the Men side, we have been absent from the MEAC Indoor Championship for two years due to the Academic Progress Rate (APR) penalties.”

According to Moore, this will be the first year, since 2015, that This is the first year since 2015 that the Rattlers will compete in the MEAC Indoor Championship.
