Apple released its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in stores worldwide Friday morning. Apple consumers of all ages were ready to get their highly anticipated new Apple device at the AT&T store in Tallahassee.
Customers were lined up outside of the AT&T before 8 a.m. for the release of the phones. There was also a steady crowd at Sprint, T-Mobile, Best Buy and Verizon.
Carlos Barreno, manager of the AT&T at Ocala Corners, discussed how good of a turn out they got for the release.
“We sold out of the iPhones very early,” Barreno explained. “Around 3 p.m. we had to get another shipment. There have been customers coming in and out of the store all day asking if we have anymore in stock. We had a lot of pre-orders but there was still a ton of customers who just came in to get it today.”
For customers who pre ordered their phone they were in and out of the store in less than ten minutes. Customers were mostly excited about the iPhones new 3D Touch feature.
Clayton Williams, a fourth-year School of Business and Industry student at Florida A&M University, was excited to get his hands on his new iPhone 6s.
“I bought my first iPhone back in 2008 and haven't owned any other phone since,” Williams expressed. “I fell in love with the benefits and the convenience the iPhones provide. They are user friendly, easy to use and one of the best-looking phones in the market. As a loyal apple customer I just had to come get the highly anticipated iPhone 6s when it released in store.”
Miranda Holmes, a mother of three and loyal Apple customer, was so excited to get her phone she opened it the moment she walked out the door.
“I couldn’t wait to get home to open my new phone,” Holmes stated. “I’ve been waiting months to get this new iPhone, this phone does everything I need for it to do and more. This is my fourth iPhone and I can’t see myself switching to another phone.”
IPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in more than 40 additional countries beginning Oct. 9 including: Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Taiwan.
