On Saturday, September 18, Sharon McGhee will perform her stories in The Pocketbook Monologue FAMU’s
Health Sexpectations – an HIV prevention campaign. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. The general public is invited and admission is free.
The Pocketbook Monologue is a fun, entertaining and provocative dialogue that allows women of color to address issues that are relevant to women, their sexual relationships and the HIV/AIDS epidemic that has affected black women.
The play stems from McGhee’s book “The Pocketbook Monologue,” a collection of stories from women
who shared their stories of intimacy and the responsibilities that goes along with it.
Last year, The Pocketbook Monologue was featured on Bravo’s “The Real
Housewives of Atlanta.”
