Their flight to Maryland was canceled due to the snow, and a reschedule time not been announced as of this issue.Monday night’s away game against Delaware State University is still on but the women’s team really wanted a second crack at one of the two teams to beat them at home this season.Their last match against the the Eagles (8-12, 5-5 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) ended with a 47-43 loss, with the Lady Rattlers connecting on 27 percent of their field goals and turning the ball over 13 times.A win against the Eagles could have carried some extra momentum into the match up with the Hornets. Now the women will have to play slightly cold, having gone a week without in-game action in a hostile environment.The Hornets (3-8, 5-19 in the MEAC) recently snapped a seven-game losing streak and have won back-to-back games against Norfolk State University and Bethune-Cookman University.Ironically, the last time Florida A&M took on Delaware State, the Hornets had just battled Bethune-Cookman in a close game. Florida A&M had lost to Eastern-Shore, turning things around to blow out the Hornets.A player to watch will be forward Antonia Bennet and guard Tameka McKelton. Bennet scored 18 points against the Hornets last time, including a wild shot from near half court to contribute to a 19-4 run that spurred the Lady Rattlers to victory. McKelton hit the two back-to-back threes to start the run and had 16 points.Also, the Lady Rattlers beat the Hornets with guard Christian Rateree on the bench with an injury.
