Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized Thursday after suffering chest pains. Two stents were placed inside a clogged heart artery. Clinton had quadruple bypass surgery after heart problems five years ago.
The former president was reported to be “in good spirits and will continue to focus on the work of his foundation and Haiti’s relief and long-term recovery efforts,” by adviser, Douglas Band.
The former president has been working to help relief efforts in Haiti. Since leaving office, he has maintained a busy schedule working on humanitarian projects through his foundation.
According to Terry McAuliffe, former Democratic National Committee chairmen, Clinton participated in a Haiti relief conference call as he was being wheeled into surgery.
