A recent Florida A& M graduate , Charles Gee, was shot multiple times on Feb.9, 2010 at Big Daddy’s on West Tennessee Street.
Gee was taken to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
David McCranie, the public information officer for the Tallahassee Police Department, said officers responded to the shooting incident around 2:30 a.m. According to the preliminary investigation, Gee is said to have overbooked “talent night,” which led to an argument with one of the participants who is suspected of shooting him. McCraine said no suspects were found.
Omari Brown, one of Gee’s friends, said that he was surprised the incident hit so close to home. Brown said he first met Gee at the beginning of the semester and a friendship developed.
Brown, 22, a fourth-year broadcast journalist student from Chicago, said that he was shocked that something like that could happen to someone he knew.
The incident added the number of shootings in Tallahassee for this year. This year three men were shot at Club Episodes, one person was killed at the McDonald’s on South Monroe Street on Jan. 18 and an officer was shot at The Moon, a local nightclub, Jan. 16.
