On the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Osceola Street, an unknown driver allegedly hit a female Tallahassee Community College student on Monday at 3 p.m.
The victim, whose name has not been released, is hospitalized at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
As of Tuesday evening, her condition is unknown.
Chief Calvin Ross of the Florida A&M University Police Department said the driver’s vehicle has been described as a black Dodge Charger with large silver rims. The tag number is F258YY.
After witnessing the incident, Kellee Bassaragh, 20, a junior magazine production student from Fort Lauderdale, said she called the police.
“Basically, we were driving down MLK, stopped at the stop sign and saw a black Dodge Charger stopped in the middle of the road and a girl laid out in front of it,” Bassaragh said.
While alerting the police, she said another man helped place the young woman on the side of the road, and the alleged assailant fled the scene.
Ross said the car was last seen headed west bound on Osceola Street.
