Albert Chester II, a senior starting quarterback for the FAMU football team, left the team three days after the game against Tennessee State, and four days before the game against Winston-Salem.
Chester confirmed his departure with the Tallahassee Democrat minutes after practice Tuesday evening. He did not attend the practice, however. He read his resignation announcement from a hand-written note.
According to the Democrat, Coach Rubin Carter said he was “shocked” at the news that his starting quarterback has decided to leave the team.
