O.J. Simpson is back in the national spotlight.
The latest O.J. story headlined all over the nation is that the former football star has been charged with 10 felonies that stemmed from an alleged armed robbery. Simpson allegedly stole some sports memorabilia last Tuesday from a Las Vegas Casino.
The nation should remember the murder trial of 1995, when Simpson was accused of murdering his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. During that trial, Simpson had famed lawyer Johnnie Cochran representing him. Which was probably the only reason he was acquitted.
There is no Cochran for this trial. Simpson may have a greater chance of being found guilty.
Athletes, like many other celebrities, do not mind being in the courtroom because they believe that fame will work in their favor; this is not always the case.
Even Paris Hilton got jail time this summer for violating her probation.
If Simpson is guilty, it is time for him to face the consequences of his actions.
Did he not learn his lesson during the murder trial?
After all the controversy over his book, “If I Did It”, which many believe to be his confession to the 1995 murders, the likelihood of Simpson being found innocent again is small.
Simpson may not be able to hold on to his freedom much longer, if at all.
This is one case where the verdict might not be in favor of “the famous”.
